Create an Impressive Fall Feast

  • Oct 12, 2018

We took an informal poll and concluded that, for most people, fall is their favorite season. If not their favorite, then definitely in the top four. Some prefer the cooler weather and brilliant colors. Some can’t wait to don their favorite sweaters. Still others just live for football season.

We love fall for the food. Truthfully, we love every season for the food, but fall in particular brings with it a plethora of choices, flavors, and colors – it is, literally and figuratively – a feast for the senses. It’s also when we feel the urge to reconnect with friends and linger longer around the table. We know that for some, the thought of hosting a “dinner party” conjures days and days of planning and preparation, but we say don’t be so hard on yourself. Pick an evening – next Thursday! – and invite a few friends. When they ask what to bring, tell someone to bring wine, tell someone to bring wine and bread, and tell someone else to bring dessert. Easy.

Trust us here, your job is no more difficult. All you have to do is grab an array of root vegetables from the farmer’s market for roasting, maybe make a wedge salad, and, most importantly, prep some Mishima Reserve Tenderloin Steaks (aka Filet Mignon). And by “prep,” we mean simply take them out of the refrigerator in the morning, salt and pepper generously, and let them warm to room temperature before searing or grilling. While those delicious tenderloins cook, you make your side dishes, set the table, fluff the pillows on the couch, and whip up an Old Fashioned for yourself.

It really is that easy – we swear! Your friends will rave about how hard you worked and the incredibly delicious dinner you served. No one will quite be able to wrap their heads around the flavor and tenderness of the tenderloin, and if they’re lucky, maybe you send them home with a few leftovers. Over the course of the coming weeks you can expect to be on the receiving end of several dinner invitations. Cheers to that!
